Together, we can create space for healing & growth.
What is art therapy?
Art therapy (AT) is a gentle, creative approach to healing that combines the process of making art with psychotherapy. Art therapy offers a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Through creating artwork, clients are invited to express and better understand their emotions, memories, and inner experiences. Art therapy can support emotional regulation, build self-awareness, and help develop healthy coping strategies, fostering growth and healing at your own pace.
What Can You Expect?
Each art therapy session is tailored to your unique needs, goals, and comfort level. Sessions typically begin with a brief check-in to discuss how you're feeling and what you'd like to focus on. You may then be invited to engage in an art activity using a variety of art materials, with guidance from your therapist or the freedom to create in a way that feels right for you.
No artistic experience is necessary. The focus is on the creative process rather than the finished artwork. Throughout the session, you'll have the opportunity to reflect on your artwork, explore your thoughts and emotions, and gain insight in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. Together, you and I will work toward your personal goals, fostering self-awareness, resilience, and emotional well-being at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
About Me
Hi I’m Holly. My journey to becoming an art therapist began in elementary school, when I first learned about art therapy in a careers class. From that moment on, I knew it was the path I wanted to pursue. I have always been drawn to the unique way that creativity can foster connection, healing, and personal growth.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University in Brantford, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Ancient History. After graduating, I continued my training at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute (TATI), where I completed an accelerated 16-month graduate program earning a diploma in Art Therapy.
I am an art therapist with the Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA) and a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO). During my training, I completed several practicum placements supporting older adults experiencing major and minor neurocognitive disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and other life challenges. These experiences deepened my appreciation for the resilience of each individual and reinforced my commitment to providing compassionate, person-centred care.
I believe that everyone deserves a safe, supportive space where they can express themselves, explore their experiences, and move toward healing. Whether you're navigating a difficult life transition, coping with overwhelming emotions, or simply looking for a different way to understand yourself, I would be honoured to support you on your journey.
